Each committee has a chair or co-chairs who set the agenda and facilitate meetings and activities. And each committee has members who contribute in a variety of ways, from brainstorming ideas to helping with special projects and managing ongoing tasks.

Serving on a committee is a great way to meet and get to know other members. It’s also a good way to apply your skills and learn new ones. If you would like to learn more about our committees, or one in particular, inquire by sending us a note here.

Help With Our To-Do List

If you have a couple of hours a month to help with ongoing tasks, we could use your help to get stuff done. This might include welcoming new members, planning programs, posting and commenting on messages on LinkedIn, and other small tasks. Start or Lead an Affinity Group

Affinity Groups are self-organized, grassroots initiatives motivated by shared interest in and commitment to a topic related to The Encore Network mission. These groups are self-governed, control their own agendas, focus on action and results, collaborate on projects, and develop a common identity.

Anyone can start a new Affinity Group by proposing a topic and identifying a leder or co-leaders to convene and facilitate meetings. A proposal with relevant information should be addressed to the Programs & Engagement Committee here.

Create a Coffee Chat

Coffee Chats are one-time conversations convened by members around a topic of their choosing. Typically, this is a chance for members to share information, promote a product, get input, or test an idea. Coffee Chats are usually one hour in length and promoted through our normal channels at least one month in advance.

To propose a coffee chat, send a note to the Programs and Engagement Committee. Include your suggested topic, a little about yourself and your preferred dates. They will offer guidance, confirm a date and time, create a Zoom link, set up the meeting on our Event Calendar and promote it.
