In this year when Zoom has become our second home, Network members are taking their programs global.
Since 1982, Oasis, headquartered in St. Louis, has offered in-person lifelong learning at local centers. Covid-19 forced those centers to close temporarily and turbo-charged President Paul Weiss’s plans to offer live online courses through Zoom.
In June, the organization launched Oasis Everywhere, with classes in arts, entertainment, exercise, history, practical topics, technology, health and more. Oasis Everywhere makes it possible for anyone in the world to participate in courses regardless of geographic location, mobility or travel constraints. Single and multi-session courses are priced from $5 to $99.
In September, Denver-based Boomers Leading Change will launch Experience U, Boomers without Borders, with courses on lifestyles, livelihood and leadership priced at $10. It offers “sixty and better” adults the opportunity to increase their vitality through community and learning, with online courses on fitness, wellness and enrichment.
