I always think Network membership is valuable and get a lot of help in terms of networking and trend analysis.
The enhanced sense of purpose this work brings to its participants is remarkable.
It’s a great extension of Encore’s core work.
I need to take more advantage of Encore resources!

Do those comments sound familiar? They should – they’re themes from your 2018 survey responses. Forty-eight members shared their thoughts in our summer questionnaire, a respectable 28% response rate.

Thanks to all who responded! Your comments tell us that the Network is a valuable resource in your work, and where to focus energy over the next few months. Those insight will enrich Network sessions at the November Encore.org leaders summit.

Check out the full survey results at this link. I’ll be in touch soon with everyone interested in summit planning, webinars, welcoming new members and our soon-to-launch member chat function.

Survey highlights:

What you value most in your Network membership  Top responses: Encore.org connections, our learning community and news on encore programs/media coverage.

Network benefits you’ve used and how you value them We had two goals in asking this question: understanding the benefits you value, and identifying benefits you’re not aware of/haven’t used. Network lead Betsy Werley’s guided tours and personal introductions were most highly valued, along with Network and Encore.org news. Members didn’t know about several of our activities:

  • Encore Network Connect video conferences where members meet and get input on your issues. Members, learn more and sign up for our October 1 session here.
  • Our Diversity & Inclusion work. The Network’s Diversity and Inclusion resource is a good starting point with a wealth of resources.
  • Support for your social media postings – We’ll be in touch with more information about how to enlist that support.

What else the Network could do to support your work Creative ideas abounded, including many facets of networking, an online bulletin board to tap others’ experience, a book group/discussion group, collaboration opportunities and support for volunteer recruitment.

Topics of most interest for Webinars and other learning: You’re looking for insights on big-picture issues, insights on effective messages and news from other encore programs.

How would you like to get involved with the Network? As usual, summit planning scored highest, with webinars and other online learning next. We’ll recruit people for all these life-enhancing activities that connect you with other members.

How likely are you to recommend Network membership to an organization or individual doing encore work? This is the standard “Net Promoter Score” used in customer service satisfaction surveys.  We scored a very credible 63% (70% is considered a world-class result).
