Following a career in business, which ranged from leadership positions in large companies to CEO of a startup, Jim McGinley shifted to social entrepreneurship with a focus on youth and education equity. For the past 20 years, he has served on the boards and played leadership roles for numerous organizations, including Social Venture Partners, 501 Commons, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, and the Center for Ethical Leadership. Jim launched the Encore Fellowship initiative in Seattle, founded Youth Venture Seattle working closely with Ashoka, helped found Jesuit Volunteer EnCorps, led the Generation to Generation program in Seattle, and is currently helping to scale the Quest for Space program in elementary, middle and high schools. Jim has been an active member of the Encore Network, serving as co-chair of the Program Committee. He holds undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Dayton.
