Did you know that people over 50 can find out in advance if an employer understands the value of their experience? Or that there’s a growing list of employers that want to hire older workers?
In this Age-Friendly Employer Forum, you’ll learn exactly what “age-friendly employer” means and how employers are qualified as age-friendly from Tim Driver, Age-Friendly Institute, and Kara Cohen, AARP Massachusetts. You’ll also hear about community college programs available to people over 50 who want to update their skills and certifications for today’s employment market.
The Forum will also introduce you to representatives from age-friendly employers, who will describe the types of jobs they have available and why they value people over 50 in their workplaces. They’ll offer tips about how to navigate the job search process to find work at age-friendly employers.
The Forum will be moderated by Dr. Carol Harvey, professor emerita of Assumption University, author of Understanding & Managing Diversity, and member of the AARP Massachusetts Executive Council.
