Find a Job Without Getting Hired? The Expanding World of Non-traditional Work

May 15 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm EDT

More than a third of all workers are finding opportunities outside the traditional employer-employee relationship. This can be especially good news for many older workers. But what’s driving this shift? What are the pros and cons? And what options are best for people over 50?

In this session, we’ll hear from Chris Farrell, Chief Economics Contributor for Marketplace, heard weekdays on NPR, and author of “Purpose and a Paycheck,” a book about how older workers are contributing to a more vibrant economy. Chris will set the stage and lead a panel discussion with people over 50 who are engaged in non-traditional work. They will describe their experience, what they’ve learned and what they want others to know about independent work. We’ll also provide resources for counselors, coaches and others. And we’ll allow time for your questions.
