Longstanding Australian encore leader Doug Jacquier has been recognized for his high-impact ideas to put experienced talent to work. His Reading the Future proposal, which will engage encore talent in adult literacy programs, was one of 14 selected by the Myer Foundation to go to the next proposal stage. Three finalists will be chosen for Fellowships commencing July 1, 2018; the generous program provides $100k for the recipient, plus $30k for expenses.
Doug’s plans include the launch of a new nonprofit, GenJunction. That organization will be home to a variety of encore efforts including intergenerational programs starting in his home city, Adelaide. Mid-term plans include expanding programs to Sydney and across Australia.
