2016 was a year of growth and innovation for the Encore Movement and the Network, starting with a record number of Network leaders at the Encore2016 conference and closing with a plan to launch our new membership.
Along the way you proved the value of working together to grow encore and deepen our impact.
We launched Encore Talent Works – our first-ever resource to build demand for encore talent, by sharing best practices and success stories.
- The Network grew in new locations through your efforts: Billings, MT; Broward County, FL; Fairfield County, CT; Dayton, OH; Palm Beach County, FL and Spokane, WA.
- Your new products supported nonprofits and encore-seekers, including Experience Matters’ Nonprofit Navigator, The Transition Network’s Women in Transition Workshop, Discovering What’s Next e-books, Challenge Factory’s Centre for Career Innovation and Boomerang Giving’s mobile app.
- Encore.org’s Generation to Generation campaign spotlighted the value of older adults’ experience and energy.
As we dive into 2017, we’re poised to launch a new Encore Network membership program to expand the Network and strengthen connections. Encore.org will launch a new innovation prize and support the growing Generation to Generation campaign, regional convenings and an expanded Encore Fellowships program.
Each of us is on a mission to transform aging into an asset. By combining our experience, commitment and energy we’ll see results faster – and have the privilege of working with other pioneers.
